Archer Aviation unveils electric air-taxi networks across Texas, starting with Austin
Editorial illustration — Press Pass USAArcher Aviation on Friday revealed plans for three electric air-taxi networks serving Austin, Dallas–Fort Worth and Houston, aiming to turn 60-to-90-minute drives into 10-to-20-minute flights across the Texas Triangle.
The networks would use Archer's four-passenger Midnight aircraft — all-electric, quiet and zero-emission — operating from general aviation facilities to connect major airports, business districts and sporting hubs. In Austin, planned connections include two airports and the Circuit of The Americas racing venue; Dallas–Fort Worth adds stops such as Frisco Station near the Cowboys' headquarters.
"Texas is setting the bar for America's leadership in the next generation of aviation," said Archer founder and CEO Adam Goldstein. "Our planned networks will make the benefits of electric air taxis real for Texans — trading hours in traffic for minutes in the air."
Archer plans demonstration flights in Texas as part of a federal pilot program and is pursuing FAA certification for commercial passenger service, with a potential timeline aiming for 2028. The Texas Triangle — home to more than 20 million people and several of the country's fastest-growing metros — loses billions each year to traffic congestion.
